Oral health matters at your business. Healthier employees are more productive employees!

HOW® employs state-of-the-art patient outreach and engagement tools to individualize electronic communications with your members to empower them to get the evidence-based preventive care they need to stay healthy.

HEALTH through ORAL WELLNESS® (HOW®) FOR EMPLOYERS

Optimal oral health truly contributes to better overall health and wellness for your employees – right down to your bottom line. Scientific studies have shown that people with better oral health are more likely to have a healthy heart and circulatory system and have lower risk for complications from diabetes and other chronic conditions.

Northeast Delta Dental’s Health through Oral Wellness® is a comprehensive, patient-centered wellness program for your employees and their family members that empowers them to achieve optimal oral health through risk assessment, education and access to evidence-based preventive care.

HOW® uses industry leading oral healthcare analytic reports to help you understand the oral health profile of your insured population and how it may be affecting workforce wellness and productivity as well as medical costs for management of chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease. These easy-to-understand reports compare claims data with your oral disease risk profile created using our exclusive online Oral Health Risk Assessment to highlight areas for improvement in the utilization of scientifically validated prevention strategies.

HOW® can provide evidence-based benefits to your members at greater risk of oral diseases or medical complications related to oral health when they register for HOW and have a standardized clinical risk assessment completed by their dentist. Benefit enhancements for patients shown by standardized risk assessment to be at greater risk for oral disease may include tooth decay susceptibility testing, sealants for children and adults and greater frequency of cleanings, periodontal maintenance, and fluoride treatments. Patients that qualify will also have access to special homecare product offers.

HOW ORAL HEALTH CONNECTS TO OVERALL HEALTH OF EMPLOYEES

Scientific studies have shown that having good oral health can result in many benefits throughout the whole body. For example, people without dental disease are more likely to have a healthy heart and circulatory system. Healthy mouths have also been shown to cause other improvements, from preventing severe side effects from diabetes to having a positive influence on the birth of healthy babies. Optimal oral health truly contributes to better overall health and wellness for your employees.
